The Revolution starts tomorrow for PlayStation 3 and PC owners. Feb. 28 marks the official release of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2's Revolution DLC for both platforms. Confirmed two weeks ago, the DLC includes four brand-new maps (Hydro, Grind, Downhill, and Mirage), as well as a new mode for zombie-mode, and the Peacekeeper SMG, the first gun available as DLC for Call of Duty ever.

Even more exciting is a brand new map for the zombie-mode, entitled Die Rise. This map takes place on several collapsed skyscrapers, as players fight waves of zombies high above a demolished Chinese city. That, mixed in with the new zombie mode Turned, will have players scambling to come up with brand new stategies for fighting the undead. Turned has players split up between three zombies and one human. As the zombie players kill the human, they, in turn, become the human. Being the only human is the only way to get points, so expect a lot of frantic action from this new mode.

Fan expectations are high, as PlayStation 3 and PC users have waited almost a month to play the same DLC that Xbox 360 owners already had access to. Revolution came out on January 29th for Xbox 360 owners, as Microsoft and Call Of Duty have had a exclusive DLC deal since 2009. Sony fans, however, have been able to get Battlefield DLC sooner than the Xbox brethren. That could change soon, interestingly enough, as several sources report on a mysterious deal between EA, the creator of Battlefield, and Microsoft. This would be a potential blow to PlayStation 3 fans of first-person shooters.

The Revolution DLC costs 14.99 as a stand-alone, but those who bought the season pass for 49.99 will receive this DLC package for free. The sheer experience of having firefights in the skateparks of Venice Beach on the Grind map should be worth the price of admission alone. Fighting through the flooding waters of Hydro, the Snowy French Alps of Downhill, and the shift sands of Mirage are just icing on the cake. Xbox 360 users have been very receptive to the DLC, so PlayStation 3 and PC fans should expect some high-quality firefights from the new maps, mode, and gun. No word yet on when the next DLC will become available for Black Ops 2, so gamers on all systems will have to be contented with merely starting this Revolution in the meantime.
