In a potential huge steal for Microsoft, there are rumors floating around about a deal between the company and EA, one of the largest game developers in the world. This deal is rumored to be for exclusively timed DLC for the upcoming Battlefield 4, and not a deal that would exclude the game entirely from appearing on the PlayStation 4.

Two anonymous sources have told  CVG of the alleged deal, though neither source could confirm exactly what this deal will be between the two companies.

Further stirring the pot is the lack of presence EA had during the unveiling of the PlayStation 4. Besides the company logo appearing briefly during the presentation, the juggernaut game developer was nowhere to be seen during the event.

When fielding questions about the absence of EA during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen last explained EA's lack of visibility as the "timing of our own slate as well as trying to maintain a good balance of power with all the parties out there."

Microsoft is rumored to be planning to reveal the new Xbox sometime in April, so the specifics of this deal (if it is indeed true) will most likely be revealed then.

If the deal involves exclusive DLC for Microsoft, it would be a huge blow to Sony, considering Microsoft also has exclusive deals with Call of Duty for their DLC. Nothing is set in stone at this point, so at this point, take every rumor about this deal with a grain of salt. This rumored new deal will certainly add to the hype surrounding the April reveal of the newest Xbox, no matter what kind of partnership Microsoft and EA have put together.
