An update for the HTC One X has led to several Android owners expressing frustration onto AT&T's forums.
HTC One X owners are awaiting for an Android Jelly Bean update for what appears to be for months, and an AT&T forums community manager is attempting to provide as much information as to why there's delays to the update.
The AT&T community manager on hand is Jamileh, who has provided as much information as she's been given. The lack of a full update for HTC One X has led to Jamileh reminding forum members about forum policy or risk losing the discussion thread about the HTC One X update.
The thread was created back in Dec. 11 and has grown to 18 pages.
"While I won't list names/teams, my team and I have a process that boils down to us being notified when there is new information. I touch base about once a week, usually twice to get updates on numerous things like OS updates, new devices, or any other changes to products and services," Jamileh wrote. "All the comments in this thread and other like it give me a lot of weight to place on hot topics like this. That's why I like these threads and encourage participation within the guidelines."
She was asked if she can obtain a date during the next time she contacts them for information.
"I tried, but they don't want to go out with me," Jamileh noted.
A forum member named jlamb701 wrote, "Maybe I am just ignorant to the fact but HTC and Google already did the heavy lifting, how long does it really take?"
"Seriously though, I bug the teams incessantly but like me, they don't want to commit to anything that might end up getting pushed back because that's a difficult situation," Jamileh responded. "There is A LOT that goes into certifying an update though. It takes time."
Many forum members did give their thanks to the community manager, as clarified by Guitarg20, "Thank you! I think I speak for everyone in this thread when I say that our annoyance isn't with you, it's with the lack of information you are given (which is established to be beyond your control) to pass on to us, as mis-manifested as the annoyance has mostly been in this thread."
According to Jamileh, AT&T is certifying the software, but other than that, HTC One X owners might have to wait longer until it's distributed.
