The Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) has released their ROM for the latest Android operating system version 4.2.2.
The Android 4.2, also known as the Jelly Bean, according to Android, have been improved in both speed and simplicity compared to the Android 4.1. The Jelly Bean include High Dynamic Range mode, redesigned clock, new photo editor, full HDMI mirroring with notifications and multi-display support, and much more.
AOKP is a custom ROM distribution for many Android devices dating back since November 2011. The AOKP's latest ROM, its fourth build, was done as the team focused on merging current versions of the ROM and bug fixes.
"This time we've focused on bugfixes, a flawless AOSP merge and also on extending our lunch table: we added a few new devices thanks to our new maintainers: dhacker, Hashcode and Quan!" noted Sethyx of AOKP.
Among the new devices available for the AOKP update are the HTC One XL (AT&T), Motorola Droid 3 (XT862), Motorola Droid 4 (XT894), Motorola Droid RAZR (VZW / XT912), Motorola Droid Bionic (XT875), Galaxy Nexus (Sprint), and the Motorola Droid RAZR (GSM / XT910).
The devices are under codes; click here to view the code-review page.
If contemplating, AOKP does note the following, "Wiping data is highly recommended as usual, of course it's a must if you're switching from another ROM or coming from 4.0.x / 4.1.x."
Is a version coming for the Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300?
According to Rohan Mathur, a moderator on AOKP, "Unfortunately no one on the team owns the device, so we cannot officially support it at this time."
