Samsung has officially entered the tablet market, giving consumers an alternative to Apple's iPad Mini.
The iPad Mini made its debut in October 2012, while the Galaxy Note 8.0 will see a launch during the second quarter across three continents.
"The Galaxy Note 8.0 breaths fresh life into the category as it delivers the perfect fusion of portability and everyday productivity - the result is a pioneering, pocket-sized solution that enhances and enriches our everyday lives, whether at work or play," said Samsung Electronics' President of the I.T. and Mobile Communications Division JK Shin.
"iPad mini is every inch an iPad. With its gorgeous 7.9-inch display, iPad mini features the same number of pixels as the original iPad and iPad 2, so you can run more than 275,000 apps designed specifically for iPad," said Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller during the device's debut last October. "iPad mini is as thin as a pencil and as light as a pad of paper, yet packs a fast A5 chip, FaceTime HD and 5 megapixel iSight cameras and ultrafast wireless - all while delivering up to 10 hours of battery life."
