In a unsurprising bit of news, Sony Worldwide President Shuhei Yoshida has announced on IGN that all twelve studios Sony owns are currently working on games for the PlayStation 4. When asked "Is it fair to say that all of the first party studios are working on PS4 games?" Yoshida was quick to say "Is it fair or not fair? It is fair to say."
The list of first party studios that Sony owns is quite impressive. For instance, Naughty Dog, the team behind the epic Uncharted Series, may be working on a fourth game in the series for the system. Polyphony Digital, the team behind the Gran Turismo series is most likely working on Gran Turismo 6 for PS4. Sucker Punch has already confirmed that they are working on a new Infamous game for the new console, entitled Infamous: Second Son.Evolution Studio has confirmed they will produce DriveClub, and Guerrilla Games is working on a brand new Killzone game for the PS4.
If every studio is making games for the system, then that surprisingly would include Sony Bend, which focuses on handheld games (the team has not made a console game since 2004) Guerrilla Cambridge, Studio London, Sony Santa Monica and Sony San Diego are also working on games for the new system, expected to be released before the holidays this year.
Even though Sony has multiple systems they are working on, it is good to know that the company is going full steam ahead with the development of games for the PS4. Buyers concerned with a lack of games to be had on the system early on can rest assured knowing that Sony is putting a supreme effort to make sure a shortage does not happen.
