Samsung has confirmed the latest Galaxy gadget in the form of an eight-inch tablet.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 is being touted as part of a "new era of intelligent Note technology set to re-ignite the mid-size tablet category that Samsung established in 2010."
The South Korean-based company noted that new tablet will achieve new levels of multi-tasking while ensuring superb voice call functionality. The Galaxy Note 8.0 will also feature the S Pen Stylus.
"The Galaxy Note 8.0 breaths fresh life into the category as it delivers the perfect fusion of portability and everyday productivity - the result is a pioneering, pocket-sized solution that enhances and enriches our everyday lives, whether at work or play," said Samsung Electronics' President of the I.T. and Mobile Communications Division JK Shin.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 features a screen size of eight-inches with 1,280x800 pixel resolution at 189 pixels per inch. The mobile operating system for the tablet is the Android version 4.1.2, also known as the Jellybean.
The front-facing camera of the Galaxy Note 8.0 is five-megapixels while the front-facing camera has 1.3-megapixels.
The Wireless connectivity for the eight-inch tablet include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, AllShareCast, BT4.0, and USB 2.0.
The internal storage for the Galaxy Note 8.0 is 16GB and 32GB with 2GB of RAM. A microSD card slot is available for up to 64GB of storage. The battery capacity of the eight-inch Galaxy Note is 4,600mAh.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 will be available during the second quarter of 2013 worldwide, including Europe, South Korea, North America, China, and Taiwan.
