Apple's trend to install the Retina Display onto their devices continues with the MacBook Air, if latest speculation is true.
According to Macotakara, the MacBook Air is set to be renovated with the Retina Display, and it could happen as soon as the third quarter of this year.
The production of the MacBook Air with Retina Display is reportedly set to ship during the second quarter of 2013.
The Cupertino-based company started using Retina Display onto its MacBook lineup last year with the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro was redesigned with thinner and lighter hardware.
In addition, the report noted the next generation of the full-sized iPad to have the same "GF2" display technology as seen with the 7.9-inch iPad Mini. The use of the GF2 will replace the glass-on-glass design currently utilized in the iPad 4 with Retina Display.
Apple has allegedly lined up the suppliers for the next iPad, with Japan Display Inc., Nitto Denko, and TPK joining Foxconn in the production process.
The next iPad, presumably named the iPad 5, has Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster stating a potential release date will be in April. He further wrote about how the iPad 5 will be similar to the iPad Mini as well.
"We believe Apple could update the full-sized iPad to a body style similar to the iPad Mini," Munster wrote. "Additionally, we believe that the iPad Mini could get a Retina display, although that may happen later in the year given the supply constraints Apple faced on the Mini in the December quarter."
