The leaks are coming fast and furious now for the next flagship handset from HTC. The most recent one is cause for celebration in the United States, as a leak reported by HTC Source has the HTC One (formerly M7) coming out on U.S. carriers on March 22.
Three carriers are slated to have the HTC One first, according to the unnamed source in the HTC Source story, though the HTC One is expected to make its way to all four major U.S. carriers in one way or another. Those three carriers mentioned in the leak are AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Prices with these carriers are expected to be from $199.99 to $299.99, depending on whether you want the 32GB or 64GB model.
The fourth carrier, Verizon, could be selling the HTC One variant under a different name. As we previously reported, a leak with details of the HTC Droid DNA Plus seems to be nearly identical to the HTC One.
The anonymous source also confirmed rumors sparked recently by HTC's Twitter account, which published a picture of a piece of brushed metal with "HTC" and "19-2-13" embossed upon it, as well as a tweet saying "75% of all the elements on the periodic table are metals."
The HTC One apparently will have a metal casing with the front-facing speakers, much like the photos and renders leaked by @evleaks. The other pictures of the HTC One, with a soft plastic casing were apparently real as well, but only used pre-production for testing purposes. No word on what HTC's tweets of an iris picture and blinking facts, which we reported here, could possibly mean.
The HTC One is expected to be unveiled next week, on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Keep checking back with us for more information, as the leaks and confirmations will probably continue over the weekend.
