The reviews are starting to pour in for "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" and so far the pundits are happy with the title. Notable Japanese publication Famitsu has just released its review of the Platinum Games title and has given it a near perfect 39/40 points.
The critics for Famitsu were impressed with the pace, but did warn that the game had a tough learning curve for parrying attacks. The game is balanced so exquisitely that even casual users can enjoy this," Editor Atsuhiro Fujiwara wrote. "The high-speed battles are thrilling, and the ability to parry enemy attacks is superbly done. You can use stealth to get through missions as well, but if not, there's a ton of cool-looking moves you can pull off. The boss-class characters really stick out in my mind; I just wish there were more of them."
Writer Yoshida was the least impressed by the parrying controls and noted that ""You don't get much chance to attack foes unless you can parry correctly, so I felt the difficulty level was a bit high,"
This is the second review unveiled for the title. UK publication GamesTM gave the title a 9/10 and noted that it was the best "Metal Gear Solid" title of this generation. The review noted that the game takes approximately six to eight hours to complete but playing through the VR mission will expand gameplay.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has the player engage enemies as cyborg Raiden. Unlike other Metal Gear titles, this one emphasizes less stealth and more action. "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" is slated for a February 19, 2013 release date in North American and will then be launched on Feb. 22 across Europe and the UK.
The title will be available for the Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.
