Google Nexus device owners can count themselves as part of the lucky few in the world that receive the latest version Android first. Google has them running Android 4.2 already, while most other devices are still playing catch up to Android 4.1, and it looks like Google is now rolling out Android 4.2.2 for the GSM versions of the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.
According to WeeManFoo on Reddit (via AndroidAuthority) who believes he is the first to be posting about the update, he received Android 4.2.2 build JDQ39. He lists the following as the changes he's noticed:
"Tested out bluetooth streaming in my car. Much less hicups when streaming from Rdio or GMusic, but still not perfect. I got disconnected from my stereo when it switched from WiFi to 3G.
The differences I'm noticing are that the notification shade drop down animation is slower and I think the icon in the top right is different after you change to the quick settings screen. I also think the regular settings screen might be a slightly lighter grey. Other than those things and the bluetooth being better, I don't see anything else."
He does later go on the state the icon "isn't changed" in an edit. Other than that it seems that the update may be mostly bug fixes.
A look through the comments show that the update has not hit the Nexus 4 yet, and for some reason is only going out to the Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Galaxy Nexus at the moment. As with all rollouts, the upgrade won't hit all devices at the same time, so even if you do own one of the above-mentioned devices, it may take some time. Expect the Nexus 4 not to be left behind, as it is Google's newest flagship phone.
