HTC Droid DNA owners can look forward to a new update coming to their device - and no, it's not Android 4.1.2 or 4.2. Instead, the update will give Droid DNA users the ability to do more, and will fix some bugs.
Once the upgrade is installed, the Droid DNA's software will be version 2.04.605.2 710RD and baseband version 1.01.01.0110. Verizon lists the update as coming soon, so be sure to check your device to see when the carrier begins pushing it out OTA.
Verizon lists the following as the changes that will take place:
" - User can load videos on HuluPlus
- Improvements to Hotspot connectivity have been made
- Improvements to Audio Quality for wired headsets and earpieces have been made
- Bluetooth connectivity and volume level for specific models have been improved
- Enhanced reliability and stability of the Contacts List have been made
- Wi-Fi Connectivity has been improved
- Improvements to default browser for zooming capability have been made
- Incoming messages display with the correct timestamp
- Enhanced Recent Apps functionality has been improved"
Big Red asks that you make sure your battery is charged and have a Wi-Fi connection as to not incur data charges.
There's no word yet on when the Droid DNA will get an Android update. The handset currently runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, and was marketed for its 5-inch Full HD 1080p display. Sadly, battery life issues and some other shortcomings kept the handset from reaching the level of popularity HTC and Verizon hoped for.
