Ahead of its rumored April release, the Samsung Galaxy S4 seems to have been spotted online in Google+ EXIF data. While it doesn't tell us much, and the pictures uploaded with the devices aren't exactly stellar, it does indicate that the handsets' camera functions are currently undergoing testing.
Two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S4 were seen on Google+, the SGH-I337 and the SHV-E300S. The first model is expected to be the AT&T variant, while the second should be South Korea's model. The images have since been taken down, indicating that they should indeed be something of significance to Samsung, although for what reason it's not clear if you take a look at the shoddy shots.
Another model, the SPH-M840, was also seen and believed to be the Sprint version, although reports now seem to agree that it isn't the Galaxy S4 Sprint.
Keep in mind that EXIF data can be manipulated, so don't take this as anything official. The images were also taken at a lower resolution that what consumers should be able to expect from the Galaxy S4.
The Galaxy S4 is rumored to be coming with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset is also supposed to sport a 4.99-inch 1080p Full HD display supported by the Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor and 2GB RAM. Android 4.2 should be running right out of the box.
There are also rumblings about some exciting new technologies the Galaxy S4 could bring to the table, such as touchless gesturing and scrolling with your eyes.
Although there's still no confirmation from Samsung, leaks seem to indicate that Samsung will be holding a Samsung Mobile Unpacked event to announce the Galaxy S4 sometime in March. Europe and Asia are then expected to receive the smartphone throughout April, followed by the United States, Africa, and Australia in May/June.
