Today saw the first actual photograph of the LG Optimus G Pro, as well as the release of official specifications for the device. And it looks like the new flagship device for LG will come in a version with a massive 5.5-inch screen.

The LG Optimus Pro is coming on the heels of the release last year of the LG Optimus. Before it's been reported that a smaller-screened Optimus G Pro was going to be released, but only in Japan. Now this version of the LG Optimus G Pro, which some are calling the Optimus G Pro+, is apparently going to be released in Korea.

According to the spec sheet leaked to Phone Arena, this version of the LG Optimus Pro will come with a 5.5-inch 1080x1920 high definition display, which puts LG in the running for the ever-increasing screen-size phablet wars. It will be powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, and it will come with 32GB of internal storage. There's also a microSD slot for cards up to 64GB for further memory expansion. Powering this spec monster is a 3,140mAh battery, which is bigger than some tablet batteries out there.

Phone Arena got the leaked spec sheet and photo from a source that had access to the Korean cell carrier LG U+, and it's unknown if this phone will be making it to other markets anytime soon.

Be sure to check back with us, as it will be interesting to see developments come in on the LG flagship phone, especially as the similarly sized and powerful Sony Xperia Z and HTC M7 are about to be officially launched later this month, followed by the Mobile World Congress 2013, where we might see more of one of the Optimus G Pro models.
