A smaller, less beefy, but cheaper version of the HTC M7 will likely be making its way to Chinese consumers soon. The HTC 603e was spotted at the TENAA, which is China's office for certifying electronics, like the U.S. FCC.
The leaked image of the M4 looks a lot like the M7, though it will be a little smaller, and mid-range as far as specs go. It will have a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with a maximum of 480x800p resolution. The M4's processor will be a 1.15GHz dual-core processor, with 1GB RAM.
The cameras on this phone will be a 5-megapixel rear camera that can record videos in 720p high definition and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It's currently unknown what the internal memory will be, but it looks like it will have microSD slot for expansion.
It's still early rumor time for this model, so the resulting M4 may not look like the images at all, and it might not be called an M4.
The M4's larger brother, the M7, is rumored to have a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen display with 1080x1920 resolution, run on a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. Internal memory looks to be 32GB or 64GB variants, with a microSD card slot for expansion.
The cameras on the M7 will be a 13-megapixel, or according to recent news, "Ultrapixel," rear-facing camera with 720p HD video and a front-facer with 2-megapixels. It's probably going to be released with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
As we reported before, the M7 is probably going to be unveiled on February 20, in NYC and London. We may learn more about mid-range models around then, or before, so stay tuned with us as we get more updates about all of these phones.
