As rumors and speculations mount regarding the highly anticipated iPhone 5, a new video has surfaced that many believe to be the back cover of the phone.
The video, which was released on Youtube Wednesday by ETrade Supply, may confirm numerous rumored alterations to the upcoming Apple Phone.
The video shows the back cover of the phone no longer has plain black or white coloring, but instead features a brushed metal look most of the surface. According to the Chicago Tribune, the look is a variation on the look of the back cover of the iPhone 4 and 4S.
The video also makes note that the phone is longer than past iterations; this one fits a 4-inch screen diagonally despite being thinner. The phone also appears have a new and smaller dock connector on the bottom where the headphone jack is now also located. There will also be a microphone located between the phone's camera and flash and the phone's SIM card is a smaller size than in the past.
People have speculated over the phone for months and rumors have surfaced time and again. Another rumor that is currently spreading is the fact that the phone will have an advanced Wi-Fi chip that will boost its battery-life. According to World News Resource, the new chip is known as the Broadcom BCM4334 and will serve a variety of purposes, primarily Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0. The chip has low power consumption, which would increase the battery-life for the iPhone 5. Other speculations are that the iPhone 5 will have a CPU similar to the one found in the new iPad.
However, the rumor that has been most widely speculated about has been the phone’s imminent release date. Apple has made no official announcement, but according to the Chicago Tribune, launch for the iPhone 5 is widely expected in October. Many expect that Apple will make the announcement during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) where CEO Tim Cook is rumored to give the keynote speech. Many speculators claim that the phone is ahead of schedule and may be released as soon as this summer.
