Consumers who love the iPad Mini but really miss having a full-sized keyboard can rejoice. Logitech has unveiled the ipad Mini version of its popular portable Ultrathin Keyboard.

"Like its full-size sibling, the Ultrathin Keyboard mini is a Bluetooth keyboard housed in an aluminum shell, but this time the shell is sized specifically for the iPad mini," writes MacWorld.

"When you're not typing, a magnetic hinge along the back of the keyboard attaches to the edge of your iPad mini -- Smart Cover-style --letting the keyboard shell double as a rigid, protective cover for the iPad's screen."

In an impressive engineering feat, Logitech has maintained the full-sized keys of the regular-sized version.

"It appears the company was able to preserve full-size letter keys by using smaller versions of keys such as Return, Shift, and particular punctuation characters, as well as by omitting keys such as Tab and Caps Lock," writes MacWorld. "Compared to the standard Ultrathin Keyboard, the mini version also uses shorter keys in the top (number) and bottom (spacebar) rows."

Logitech says the keyboard can operate off a full charge for three months, though that assumes only two hours of use a day. Still, it's not a pain to charge an accessory even once a month, unless you're truly lazy.

Of course, the keyboard does add bulk. It's sized to fit the iPad Mini, but extra features come with extra weight. "Fans of the iPad mini's trim waistline may want to think twice about taking the plunge since the $79 accessory effectively doubles the tablet's size," writes TechCrunch.

The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Mini hit stores later this month, but if it's anything like he original, it will be indispensable.
