Last week, we reported a leak on the HP website that seemed to be the company's first entry into the Chromebook market. Today, the rumors were confirmed: HP's Chromebook is available now.

The HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook is the name of the new laptop, signifying HP's 14-inch display, which is a first for chromebooks, and the largest display of any laptop running Google's operating system. The next largest screen is 11.6 inches, offered both by Samsung and Acer.

The Pavilion 14 Chromebook's display has a resolution of 1355x768 pixels, which is pretty low by modern laptop standards, but stands out as the widest resolution available for chromebooks. Other specs that were leaked last week checked ou. The HP Chromebook is powered by a 1.1GHz Intel Celeron processor and 2GB RAM, which can be doubled. The Pavilion 14 Chromebook a 16GB solid state drive, which is supplemented by up to 100GB of free cloud storage on Google Drive. Customers get a two-year free trial of Drive when they buy the Pavilion 14.

Other specs include 3 USB (2.0) ports, an HDMI port, Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, a headphone jack, and a card reader. The Pavilion 14 is rated to go for 4 hours and 15 minutes running on its battery, and the whole laptop weighs just short of 4 pounds. Acer Chromebooks have about the same battery life while the Samsung Chromebooks outlasts all other models.

The larger screen of HP's Pavilion 14 Chromebook doesn't come without a larger price as well. While Acer's C7 Chromebook costs $199 and Samsung's costs $249, the HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook starts at $329.99 today.
