Activision has announced that they're incorporating Twitch, the gaming-centric video streaming platform and community for gamers, into Black Ops 2. Soon players will be able to broadcast their gameplay videos with just click of a button.
"Twitch is extremely excited to announce our integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It's going to blow the doors wide open for a new generation of console gamers to share their video game experiences," said Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch. "There's no bigger gaming franchise on the console than Call of Duty, and we can't wait to see what the community can create with this new tool. In-game streaming is entering a whole new world."
Twitch already broadcasts numerous Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 videos because of the game's popularity, but developer Treyarch's direct implementation of the service into Black Ops 2 will make broadcasting a simpler affair.
"Making Call of Duty: Black Ops II not only fun to play, but also fun to watch was a key goal from the beginning of development," said Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch. "We pushed ourselves to build these features right into the game in order to make live streaming as accessible and as social as possible for everyone. One of the things that make this so special is that there's no need for additional hardware or equipment, we want our fans to be able to share their experiences with the world."
With Twitch integration, you'll be able to create a free account and immediately begin streaming your gameplay with one click, and share it on Twitter and Facebook as well. But now that you'll be able to instantly broadcast your gameplay, you'll have to decide whether or not your games are worth sharing.
