It looks like a win at the Kids Choice Awards won't be enough to keep the show on air.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Nickelodeon has placed production for "Sam and Cat" on hold. A Nickelodeon spokesperson allegedly said, "We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of 'Sam & Cat', and everyone is understandably tired. We are going into our production hiatus next week, which will give everyone on the show a much-needed rest."

The show was reportedly on hiatus since March 31, notes The Hollywood Reporter and "it is unclear how many episodes remain to be produced for its first cycle." Additionally, the decision for a second run of "Sam and Cat" has not yet been made, says the outlet.

The reason behind the alleged hiatus is not clear though fans initially thought that it could be the 21-year old actress' sexy selfies. It can also be recalled that Jennette did not show up for Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards where she was nominated for Favorite TV Actress, an award which was later won by "Sam and Cat" co-star, Ariana Grande.

Jennette has made it clear that her absence at the KCA's was because of how Nickelodeon treated her though the details were withheld by the iCarly star.

"I wish I could explain everything as thoroughly as I would like to, but unfortunately a simpler explanation is all I can write. I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing," she said in a post.

TMZ reports that Jennette McCurdy is actually referring to her paycheck. "Our sources say the source of McCurdy's dissatisfaction is rooted in her paycheck. We're told the pint-sized star is pissed that Grande makes WAY MORE money than her and she's been trying to renegotiate her deal ... so far to no avail," says the outlet.

Will "Sam and Cat" really end with the alleged Jennette McCurdy versus Nickelodeon feud?
