Modern Warfare 4
It hasn't been announced yet, but no one in the world is going to be surprised when Activision drops Modern Warfare 4. After half a dozen games since the Call of Duty relaunch though, the series is really starting to feel like the same game is coming out every year.
A teaser website was recently uncovered for a fourth Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game. However, the site, which featured a countdown to some sort of reveal on March 21, has since been confirmed as a fake.
While it's pretty much a given, Activision confirmed a new Call of Duty game for 2013 during an earnings call with investors. But the CEO and CFO of Activision chimed in, stating that next-gen consoles like the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 could hurt sales. Still, they say the game will be better than than any previous installment.
The "Call of Duty" series is usually guaranteed to lock up the top spot as the highest selling title of the year. In 2012, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" was the best selling game, while "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" was the highest selling title of 2011.
Black Ops 2's DLC, titled 'Revolution,' is folded into Activision's first phase of season pass releases and includes the following maps: Grind, Downhill, Mirage, Hydro, and Rise. Expect three subsequent map packs under the current season pass, which can be purchased for $50.
