Ultimately, "Rubberneck" is an intriguing character study molded into a suspense thriller that sustains the audience's attention for its duration. Unfortunately, the film threatens to alienate its audience as it wears on without ever truly winning it back. A late attempt to redeem Paul makes the film feel formulaic and cliché despite its best intentions.
Aside from the lightsabers, Jedi, and Darth Vader, there has always been one characteristic that has defined the "Star Wars" series: the musical score. Throughout the six films, composer John Williams was mainstay for series creator George Lucas and his memorable score has been considered one of the greatest in film history. When the new series was announced, many questioned whether the veteran composer would return or if new director J.J. Abrams would look to move in a different direction. Also worthy of consideration is the fact that at age 81, Williams would be ready to do another three or more movies. Despite these potential obstacles, it seems that the legendary composer is determined to take on the franchise once more.
