A new poll released by Gallup revealed that three quarters of Americans would vote to install term limits for members of both houses of Congress.

The study, which was published on Friday, also revealed that over 60 percent of Americans would vote "for" getting rid of the Electoral College.

According to Gallup, an overwhelming 82 percent of Republicans and 65 percent of Democrats would vote "for" enacting term limits on Congress members. Independents would also be for passing term limits by 79 percent. In contrast, only 15 percent of Republicans, 17 percent of Independents and 29 percent of Democrats would be against voting in term limits.

Support for Congressional term limits is evenly dispersed among all age groups, the Gallup poll revealed. Americans ages 50 to 64 held the biggest support for the measure with 77 percent and 19 percent against.

The poll also stated that a majority of Americans are in favor of getting rid of the Electoral College. Support for such a measure is highest among Democrats (66 percent) but is in line with support from Republicans (61 percent) and Independents (63 percent). Equal percentages of Republicans and Democrats are against "doing away" with the Electoral College at 30 percent.

According to Gallup, support for the measure is also evenly distributed among all age groups, with higher support from the 18 to 29 year-old bracket (69 percent). Americans ages 65 and older are the most opposed to getting rid of the Electoral College at 32 percent.

Gallup reported that, "While constitutional and statutory revisions have been made to the Electoral College since the nation's founding, numerous efforts to abolish it over the last 200+ years have met with little success."

The polling organization also found that support for abolishing the Electoral College is higher than it was between 2000 and 2011.
