Ever wonder how Kelly Ripa can look so perky in the morning? Well her secret isn't coffee.
The peppy co-host of "Live with Kelly and Michael" admits to receiving Botox injections on a regular basis during an interview with Elle Magazine.
The 42-year-old said she gets the procedure done about every seven months.
"My eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes. So I feel like it makes my makeup artist's life easier, and it make my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now," Ripa tells Elle Magazine.
The morning show co-host even admits to receiving the injections in her armpits to prevent sweating.
Ripa goes on to reveal her self-conscious nature that she blames on an offensive letter she received from a viewer when she was an actress on "All My Children."
The note read, "Eat a carrot, you fat bastard" in response to the weight she gained after her first pregnancy.
Ripa told Elle Magazine that she framed the letter and hung it on her dressing room wall.
"I feel like as long as you take ownership over your own flaws, it doesn't hurt if someone else points them out," she said in the interview.
Ripa landed the co-hosting job with Regis Philbin 12 years ago, replacing Kathie Lee Gifford.
"I've never really planned my career, and it's led me to where I am now," Ripa said to Elle Magazine. "I also enjoy writing, but will it lead to anything? I don't know. I'm probably not very good, but lack of talent hasn't stopped me before."
