All systems are go for Jeremy Lin as he prepares to step on the court in Houston tonight against the Clippers.
Lin, the Rockets' starting point guard and NBA All-Star candidate, told the Houston Chronicle that he is "good to go" for Tuesday's game against the elite Clippers squad (29-9 win-loss record) after having a scare with his ankle on Monday.
Stepping awkwardly on backup point guard Toney Douglas's foot, Lin sprained his right ankle earlier this week during a team practice and had to leave the court, watching practice from the sidelines the rest of the day while applying ice to his ankle.
However, despite that near-scare, Lin assured that he would play on Tuesday night.
"I feel good," Lin said. "I can tell. We did some stuff in there (in the training room). I'll be good to go."
Lin's offense has been sliding in the last three games, his shooting percentage depleting to only 29.4 percent in the last three contests. However, the Rockets could use their star point guard as they pit their league-leading offense (105.4 points per game) against the high-flying attack of the Clippers.
However, the Clippers could be without Paul, who sat out Monday with a bruised knee and is questionable for Tuesday's game.
Regardless of Paul's status, Lin will be ready to go Tuesday, though Rockets coach Kevin McHale will be playing it safe and keeping a close eye on the other half of his explosive backcourt.
"He looked like he was moving OK," McHale said. "I was concerned today he would be really limping and hobbling around. He wasn't 100 percent. He went through shootaround, but shootaround and playing are different things. We'll find out more tonight."
