Singer Luis Fonsi has fired back at his ex wife and actress Adamari Lopez after she accused Fonsi of abandoning her during her fight against cancer.
Lopez came out in an interview promoting her new book "Viviendo" and stated that he was insensitive to her illness and that he told her that she was undesirable as a woman.
Fonsi told the media that she was not being truthful and that when he found out about her illness he put his life on pause. He stopped CD projects, and concert tours to take care of her. He also stated that he felt he was also diagnosed with the illness as well and dedicated 100 percent of his life to her. He would be at every treatment and would give her support when she was not feeling well.
The singer stated he never told her that he did not desire her as woman and everything he did for her was out of love. He also told reporters that their divorce had nothing to do with her illness and he would never write a book that detailed their intimate life.
Lastly, he told reporters that he decided to speak out because he thought he was being attacked and it was hurting his image as well as confusing his fans and the public. He also stated that he was not going to pursue the issue any more and that he would not use the situation for any song, series, or book. He told the media that he hopes that Adamari will find peace.
Adamari currently co-hosts the show "Un Nuevo Dia" on Telemundo while Luis Fonsi is continuing his campaign to help children against cancer.
