The Golden Globes have finally arrived. The main question remains as to who will win which categories. Here is a Latinos Post roundup of who will win the major movie categories in 2013.
In the Best Animated Film Category, the publication has picked the Hollywood Foreign Press to choose Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie." The film scored a tremendous reception with the critics and Tim Burton's fame makes him the obvious choice for the celebrity loving HFP.
In the Best Foreign Film category, "Amour" is the pick. The film has won more precursor awards and has scored a number of major Oscar nominations. This is one of the most straight-forward picks of the night.
In the Best Screenplay Category, the battle is between "Lincoln" and "Argo." The film that wins this category is destined to win the top movie prize; Latinos Post picks "Argo."
The acting categories are generally straight forward. Anne Hathaway should win the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in "Les Miserables." Tommy Lee Jones and Philip Seymour Hoffman will battle in the Best Supporting Actor category and Latinos Post picks Lee-Jones to win this one.
In the Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical, Jennifer Lawrence should easily win while Hugh Jackman likely wins in the Best Comedy/Musical Actor category. In the drama acting categories, Daniel Day-Lewis is a lock to win the Best Actor race while Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts contest the Best Actress award. Latinos Post picks Naomi Watts as a surprise winner, but Chastain has the better momentum.
Steven Spielberg should win the Best Director race over Ben Affleck even though the HFP will go in a different direction for the Best Picture award.
In the Best Picture categories, Latinos Post sides with "Les Miserables to win the Best Comedy/Musical and "Argo" should take the Best Drama award home. "Les Miserables" could lose to "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Argo" could see "Lincoln" steal the prize from it however.
