Christopher Nolan is one of the most prominent film makers working in the industry. After reviving Batman in the hugely popular "Dark Knight" series, Nolan has been producing the reboot of the "Superman" franchise. Aside from those projects, little had been known aobut the helmer's next directing gig - until now.
According to numerous reports, Nolan is heading into outer space for a film that deals with time travel. According to UK Publication The Guardian, the film will be called "Interstellar" and revolves around the theories of Kip Thorne. The film will portray a group of space travelers that journey through a wormhole. The script will be written by Nolan's frequent collaborator and brother Jonathon Nolan.
"Interstellar" has been in production for some time and previously had other major directors attached to it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Spielberg was once slated to direct the film, and it is unclear if he remains attached to it in any capacity. The film was originally in production through Paramount Studios but since Nolan has a contract with Warner Bros., the film would be a joint venture by the two studios.
There is no news on when the film may be released or the timetable for production. It is likely that Nolan does not start work on it until after the release of his current project "Man of Steel" which arrives in theaters on June 14, 2013.
