Lakers Nation is now in the digital age.
Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers can now get updates on their favorite team via their Android and iOS thanks to the Lakers launching their first-ever official mobile app this week.
Partnering with mobile platform company Lucid Appeal, this app provides all the latest team news, stats, schedules, videos and pictures, user profiles and other select features while adding push notifications, local support, deals and more in order to provide Lakers fans with a new kind of digital experience.
According to Nick Kioski, Director, New Media & Technology for the Lakers, the app is part of the team's long term strategy to engage Lakers fans in the digital world.
"Launching this mobile app is a part of our long term strategy to engage Lakers fans across digital platforms and deliver content to fans in all the ways they want to consume it," he said in a statement.
Koiski said the Lakers chose Lucid Appeal because they pushed for the team to produce a mobile app platform in order to keep team fans interacting with the Lakers in the ever-growing world of mobile information.
Michael Zerah, the founder and CEO of Lucid Appeal, said he was looking forward to his new partnership with the Lakers, "a team that's embraced all forms of social media to build a loyal and engaged fan base."
"We couldn't be more excited for this initial launch and everything we have planned for their app," he said.
