Stephen Colbert will make a hilarious El Chapo.

The 51-year-old TV host is preparing to star in the inevitable El Chapo bio film, and he has made an audition video to showcase his acting chops, according to We Are Mitu.

The "Late Show" host didn't miss a chance poking fun about the recent Sean Penn Rolling Stone interview with El Chapo, where it was learned that the Mexican drug kingpin wanted a film made about his life.

"I want in," Colbert quipped.

The comedian released his audition tape, complete with an awkward mustache and dark silky clubwear shirt, for the role of a lifetime Monday night.

In the "audition video," Colbert makes different imitations of "the man who built the world's most lucrative drug empire after Pfizer."

There was the original version, a Mexican gangster imitation where he says, "Ah, me llamo El Chapo. I run this Mexico. You'll never take me alive, Coppers. El bango, el bango."

There's also one along the lines of a sitcom, with an imaginary donkey eating one of the decapitated heads inside a bag that Colbert's El Chapo is holding.

There's even a plain Han Solo version, where Colbert imitates Chewie as well.

At this point, it's probably already expected by many that an El Chapo movie will be made in the future. It's not much of a surprise that the Mexican drug kingpin wanted a movie made about his life since there have been numerous films made about drug bosses.

Currently, there is no word about an actual El Chapo movie in the works. However, according to The Wrap, a TV series from Univision titled "Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzmán: El Varón de la Droga" ("Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzmán: The Drug Baron") is scheduled for airing next fall.

Mexican police made their recapture of Joaquín "El Chapo Guzmán" Loera on Friday, six months after his escape from a maximum-security prison in Mexico via a tunnel.

Through the connection of Mexican actress and "La Reina del Sur" star Kate del Castillo with El Chapo, Sean Penn was able to interview the druglord for Rolling Stone.

According to Mexican attorney general Arely Gomez, it was El Chapo's meeting with "actresses and producers" and his desire for a biographical film of his life that ultimately led officials to locating him.

Indeed, in the Rolling Stone interview with El Chapo, the 55-year-old actor said Guzman was interested in a film and that he wanted del Castillo to help him make it.

"He was interested in seeing the story of his life told on film, but would entrust its telling only to Kate," Penn wrote.

As Colbert joked, it's not impossible for the film to have drug mules and decapitated heads, especially given El Chapo's reputation.

"The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" airs weeknights on Global at 11:35 p.m. ET.
