As we go further into 2016, some 2015 lists remain to be appreciated before turning back on them with finality to face the future ahead.
One of those is the list of the most popular baby names among Hispanics in 2015. Interestingly, last year's top names were the most popular ones in previous years. In fact, it has remained on top of the heap for the past 9 years.
"Despite a growing trend towards original, unique names, Latino parents leaned towards the traditional," Latina noted. "Names that begin with the letter "S" topped the list: Sofía ranked as the most popular girls' name, and Santiago won the top boys' spot."
Citing BabyCenter En Español's report on the top 100 baby names for Hispanic parents, Latina said that names beginning with "M" are also on the rise, with Martin and Martina expected to rise higher on the list in succeeding years.
"In 2014, Martín made the top 10 list for the first time, and in 2015, it surged to number five. Martina came in sixth," the publication pointed out.
Mateo is also another name poised to challenge Santiago's top dog position.
