Steve Harvey, Miss Colombia to Meet After Miss Universe Mishap

Steve Harvey and Miss Colombia, whose real name is Ariadna Gutierrez, are scheduled to have a face to face interview for the first time since the now infamous Miss Universe mishap.

According to Uproxx, the sit down interview will happen during the week of Jan. 18 on Harvey's daytime syndicated talk show.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Gutierrez hinted at the interview and finally agreed to do it after the poll she posted on her Twitter account showed that fans wanted her to do it.

The interest for the confrontation between the two celebrities has been boiling over since the finals of the Miss Universe pageant back on Dec. 20, 2015. It was here where Harvey made the mistake of calling Gutierrez as the winner when in fact the judges chose Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, as the eventual winner.

The crown was given to Gutierrez initially. However, host Harvey had to stop the proceedings and explain what had just happened. Stating that it would be dishonorable to allow what was happening to continue, Harvey stated that Wurtzbach was the winner and that Gutierrez had to have the crown taken off her and given to Wurtzbach. This has never been done before in the pageant's rich history.

Harvey quickly apologized for the mistake and posted on his Twitter account  that he is deeply sorry and that he is only human and mistakes were made.

Since the Miss Universe mishap, media outlets around the world have scrutinized the pageant and host Harvey for the debacle and rumors have spread about everyone involved.

Hollywood Life has reported that Gutierrez was even offered a USD1 million contract to do a sex tape by Vivid Entertainment. While Gutierrez eventually turned down the offer by Vivid, it marked how trending the news was.

Harvey has taken a lot of heat from the mistake, with many internet citizens scrutinizing his hosting capabilities and even commenting on why a comedian like Harvey by chosen to be a host of something as serious as the Miss Universe pageant.

Since the pageant night, Harvey has gone on record saying that he has already been able to apologize to Miss Philippines and to the Miss Universe pageant people. Now he wants to have some time to get to apologize to Miss Colombia.
