A new chocolate craze has taken social media by storm.

In a tweet earlier this week by British author James Hannah, he shared the Toblorange, a food combination that could easily be a frontrunner to be called the greatest food discovery and invention of 2016.

Toblorange, as James showed, was the combination of Toblerone, the world's favorite airport chocolate, and Terry's Chocolate Orange. The impeccable fit of the chocolate orange to the grooved ridges of Toblerone has many saying that the foods were destined for each other.

Moreover, in an act of generosity, James made his invention available for everyone who wants to recreate it.

"And get this: I am waiving my copyright fee for your own Toblorange. You may recreate it free of charge. It's morally the right thing to do," James said in a tweet.

James, who authored "The A to Z of You and Me," posted the hybrid food last Jan. 2, 2016 and has since gone viral with many Twitter users creating their own Toblorange.

Most tweets are praising James for his invention with some saying that 2016 has finally arrived with Toblorange. Another Twitter user commented that the author's invention gave sense to the spaces between the ridges of the Toblerone.

Even James' literary agency, Conville & Wash, was caught into the craze, posting a tweet which says that James has "changed the course of human history in 2016."

The official Twitter page of Toblerone has also responded about this chocolate sensation, dropping a tweet saying that things have "escalated" while adding that it was the "best invention ever." It also responded to James' tweet and told the author to "better retire now" as he already peaked.

"I'm furiously mashing together other confections as we speak in the hope of recovering the good times," James replied to Toblerone's tweet.

Meanwhile, since many were eating the Toblorange like a cake, a Twitter user asked James for eating techniques on which the inventor replied "With Gusto".

Nonetheless, although Toblorange is now a social media sensation, those who want to try it must be cautious about eating too much. Even James himself said that he feels a "bit sick" because of Toblorange.

Here's an Instagram video of someone making the Toblorange which is oddly satisfying to watch.
