A recent ISIS clip showed yet another British-sounding man speaking to the camera, uttering threats and insults directed at UK Prime Minister David Cameron, CNN reported.
And now, the latest update revealed that the extremist in question has been identified - Siddharta Dhar.
Appearing and speaking in front of the camera apparently isn't new to Dhar, as it has been learned that he had previously participated in a BBC debate back in 2014.
"Dhar, a British man, reportedly fled Britain in 2014 while on bail, after being arrested on suspicion of encouraging terrorism," CNN said. "His name was mentioned during a parliamentary debate by Shadow Home Secretary Andy Burnham."
"Burnham asked UK Home Secretary Theresa May about reports in the British media that the man who appeared in the video was Dhar," the news source added.
Previously, the suspect's own sister noted that the man in the clip could be her brother. The black-clad man's voice also reportedly is similar to that of her sibling, although what little of his face that peeked through his disguise did not allegedly seem to resemble that of Dhar.
A source revealed to the BBC that Dhar, also known as Abu Rumaysah, is now the focus of investigations, and that many think that the man in question is indeed him.
"The UK's security authorities are facing mounting questions over how he was able to flee the UK while on bail, one of the conditions of which was that he must hand over his passport," the BBC reported. "Shadow home secretary Andy Burnham described it as a 'serious lapse in security' and called for an inquiry."
However, it was later explained that Dhar's arrest was done "under standard police procedures," which allowed the posting of bail.
Also, it was only after Dhar left for Syria later last year that the police made a follow up and sent him a notice about the passport condition.
Not much information has been revealed about the case due to the ongoing investigation.
The video showed the man, suspected to be Dhar, as calling Cameron a "slave of the White House." The footage also showed five hostages in the distinctive orange jumpsuits that previous captives executed on camera wore. They were then shot at the back of their heads.
The new British-speaking spokesperson on the ISIS video was thought to be the replacement of "Jihadi John," who is believed to have been killed some time last year in the wake of an airstrike in Raqqa.
"His absence lends credence to Western intelligence agencies' belief that he is indeed dead," CNN said.
