Ah, the perks of being a Marvel movie director.
Marvel filmmaker James Gunn did a brief Q&A on his Facebook page which candidly divulged that he has already watched the "Captain America: Civil War." Not only that, he also commended the movie saying that it is "one of the best Marvel movies ever."
Gunn is the director and writer of the hit making Marvel movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy." He is now in the pre-production stages of the sequel, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and is in talks with Kurt Russell to play as the father of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).
During the online Q&A, Gunn was asked by a fan on what he thought of the in-progress Marvel movie "Doctor Strange." As the movie is still in pre-production stage, he could not give an informed remark about it so he instead said that he liked the script of "Doctor Strange." However, as told by Cinema Blend, he continued praised the masterwork of the Russo Brothers and said:
I saw Civil War, and I think it's incredible. It's one of the best Marvel movies ever, and I can't believe what a wonderful job the Russo Brothers did, and the cast.
Gunn also wasted no time praising the "Civil War" cast in his online Q&A by saying: "Oh my God, they're so good. So it's an amazing film and people are going to be really excited to see that come summertime."
The first footage of "Captain America: Civil War" aired last August 2015 at the Disney D23 Expo. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige unveiled the trailer along with Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, and Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon. "It's a culmination of everything that has come before in the cinematic universe," Feige told the D23 crowd.
The clip opens with Falcon and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) who teams up with Captain America to defeat Crossbones (Frank Grillo). Two hero parties appear to be in rivalry in the upcoming film: Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) and War Machine (Don Cheadle) against Captain America and the rest of Avengers, which inlcude Scarlett as Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, Anthony as Falcon/Sam Wilson and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff. An Avenger versus another Avenger is seen nearing the end of the "Civil War" trailer.
Besides Captain America and Falcon, other heroes slated to appear in "Civil War" include The Vision (Paul Bettany) Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and Marvel neophytes Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).
