Movie critics tend to be likely to view the same movie more than once. In the case of Mashable's Chris Taylor, he was able to rewatch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" for a week. What has he learned? The film gets better, so he said.

"It turns out 'The Force Awakens' is ridiculously rewatchable, too - like, 1977-level rewatchable," he shared. "In the week since the premiere, I've seen the movie in all formats (3D, IMAX, 2D); I can tell you right now that 2D is all you need."

"Other formats seem to distract in an odd kind of way, from what is unique about this movie," he added.

Understandably, Taylor said all those things based on the experience of intermittent instances of repeated "Star Wars" viewing. He did not go on a movie-watching binge where he sat for hours on end taking on the newly released flick on repeat, like what Jim Braden did.

"To test their endurance and devotion to the iconic films, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema hosted a marathon, challenging participants to watch 'The Force Awakens' on repeat as many times as possible - after sitting through the six preceding films," Digital Trends said. "Braden, who competed against six other pre-selected fans, managed to make it through nine consecutive showings of the seventh episode for a total of 15 long movies in a row."

So, how did the Austin, Texas resident found the experience?

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Braden called the movie marathon "a grueling ordeal."

He said that the first viewing was euphoric for him, while the second run allowed him to take a closer look at the film.

"After that, we quickly fell into a pattern of diminishing returns," he explained. "By the 8th and 9th viewing, I zoned out, and the movie just washed over me. I think I went a little insane. I checked out."

"I left the marathon convinced I'd never be able to watch it again," he revealed. "I had been 'Clockwork Orange'd.'"

"I went home and slept for a few hours - my first sleep in over 50 hours - and dreamed, or hallucinated, about the movie the entire time," he went on. "I woke up and immediately felt the urge to watch the movie again."

He went on to explain that the experience gave him a "Stockholm Syndrome-like hold." In fact, he already had gotten "Star Wars" tickets for himself again, as well as for his parents, who will be in town for Christmas.

"I can't wait to see it again. I'm a sick, sick man," he admitted.
