Simon Cowell Calls Zayn Malik 'Rude' After Dissing 1D's Music

Zayn Malik has a lot of negative things to say about One Direction, his former band. Simon Cowell is not too happy about this.

Recently, it was reported that Zayn Malik dissed 1D's music and revealed why he left the band. In an interview with the Fader, Zayn said "There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band, If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as f***, so they could use that version. There was just a general conception that the management already had of what they want for the band, and I just wasn't convinced with what we were selling. As much as we were the biggest, most famous boy band in the world, it felt weird. We were told to be happy about something that we weren't happy about. I don't feel like people really know what I'm going to give them, musically. And once they hear it, I feel like they will understand me a little bit more, and they'll understand why I did what I did, and why I left the band, and why I had to write this s*** down, because for five - not even for five years, for ten years, this album has been in my brain, and it's just been there, sat with me, needing to be out.".

Upon hearing this, Billboard reports Simon couldn't help but fire back, calling out Malik's rudeness. "I think once he has had a chance to reflect on everything he will probably reconsider what he's said because it was a very, very democratic process in the band, it is a bit rude to the people who wrote all the hits with them. And to the other band members. I mean they all wrote a lot of the stuff."

This is not the first time Zayn said something negative against 1D. According to his previous interview on Mirror, Zayn shared that he left because he wanted to make "real music." He also revealed Liam Payne wanted to leave the band as well. 

People were devastated when they learned that Zayn quit the band, with many ranting out on Twitter, begging the singer to come back and change his mind. Hashtag #Cut4Zayn even trended world wide when Directioners cut their wrists and took photos along with the said hashtag to show Zayn Malik how heartbroken they were. The lad kept mum about all issues for a while and tried to make his interview answers on why he left as vague as possible.
