As noted by Comicbook.com, the "Batman vs Superman" synopsis is as follows:
"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."
In other "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" news, actor Ben Affleck has revealed that his version of Batman is a completely different one from Christopher Nolan's.
According to Digital Spy, the 43-year-old actor sat down with French magazine Studio Cine Live (via The Hollywood Reporter) and revealed more about his version of the Dark Knight.
He said the Batman that the audience will see in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is even more frustrated than Christian Bale's Batman in Nolan's films.
"Christopher Nolan used his Batman to tell a finite story. My version is different, but remains faithful to the Batman mythology and all the themes associated with it," Affleck said.
The Academy Award-winning director also said that his Batman will highlight Wayne's billionaire playboy side more, courting many women, partying a lot and owning expensive cars.
As reported previously by Latinos Post, Superman could be portrayed as a god in the highly anticipated movie, echoing Affleck's explanation to Studio Cine Live that Batman is "clouded by frustration, bitterness and anger."
Cinema Blend pointed out that the central conflict of the film could be the question of Superman's portrayal - whether he is of man or of god, placing the alien superhero at an advantage when fighting with the Dark Knight.
The movie's costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, explained as much in an interview with Omellete. Apparently, the scene in the "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer where armed soldiers were shown kneeling in front of Superman (Henry Cavill) is a scene from a nightmare of Bruce Wayne, showing that he is afraid of what Superman is capable of doing to Earth if he chooses to take the dark path.
Wilkinson added that Batman will become obsessed with finding out Superman's real intentions.
"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is slated for release on March 25, 2016.
