Since when did James Bond become a "Star Wars" character?
Apparently, since Daniel Craig and director J.J. Abrams shared studio space. Sort of.
First things first, though. In which part of the movie did the "Spectre" star walk in? The interesting part is that even if you play the film back slow-mo, you still wouldn't be able to spot him.
If you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want any spoilers, it's best for you to stop reading right now.
If you've seen it and are baffled how Craig could have appeared in the movie when you've never even seen his shadow (and you're an eagle-eyed fan at that), read on.
"At one point during the story, Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, attempts a Jedi mind trick on a Stormtrooper," Time recounted. "Turns out, this Stormtrooper, who never takes his helmet off, was played by Craig."
Rey was testing out her newly-discovered skill by attempting to convince a lone Stormtrooper guarding her to let her walk free.
"You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open," she told the soldier.
"I'll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum," Stormtrooper Craig replied.
"After Ridley focuses her Jedi skills and repeats the treaty, eventually responds: 'I'll remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open,' before doing just that," The Guardian noted, adding that the scene was one of the "standout comedy moments" in the film.
Previously, there were rumors of the 007 actor appearing in the much-awaited flick, thanks to an accidental reveal by "Spectre" cast mate Simon Pegg, who later brushed off the slipup as a mere rumor. As expected, Craig vehemently denied the buzz in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"Why would I ever bother doing something like that?" he asked. "F-ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie."
Apparently, the rumors were true.
The next question now is - how did Abrams get the actor to appear in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"?
"The 47-year-old James Bond actor was shooting Spectre at Pinewood Studios, where J.J. Abrams was filming 'The Force Awakens' at the same time, when the two got to talking about Craig taking on a small role," Time said.
On a side note, Pegg allegedly also got to appear in the film, " reportedly as a troll-like Jakku bigwig," according to The Guardian.
With all those full alien makeup and costumes, it can be hard to tell who's who among the actors in "The Force Awakens." Were you even able to spot Lupita Nyong'o in there?
