Markieff Morris headlines the list of NBA players likely to be donning a new NBA jersey soon, though it remains to be seen which team will be the first to jump the gun.

There were reports that the Houston Rockets were showing interest on Keef earlier this month via CBS Sports where he could possibly be dangled in a deal that would see Terence Jones in exchange.

To date, nothing has prospered from that report and now a new team has popped up as a possible trade suitor in the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to John Reid of the Times Picayune, the Suns and the Pelicans have made initial discussions and the main players would include Morris and Ryan Anderson.

Anderson has been putting up fine numbers (18 points and 6.9 rebounds) but such hasn’t done much for the struggling Pelicans. The team has its share of injured players who are near the bottom of the standings and just a few wins ahead of the spiraling Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite these claims of Reid, Marc Stein of ESPN somehow contradicts the belief that the Pelicans are ready to part with Anderson, well especially now that Pelicans are only starting to see they key players return to the rotation.

But with Anderson expected to become a free agent after this season, trading him for someone they can probably keep longer could be feasible.

And with that said, it does make a bit of sense to get Morris who could use a change of environment to help him regain his old form and production.

With the Suns, Morris has been struggling. He has managed to put up only 11.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per outing, a far cry from his output last season which many believe is a sign that the power forward is still bothered by the departure of his brother Marcus who is now doing great with the Detroit Pistons.

Something could materialize in the coming days as trade rumors heat up. With teams now able to move free agents they signed, such could indicate that disgruntled players like Morris could get their wish of a trade.

However, that can only happen if the deals are balanced. If ever a deal between Anderson and Morris happens, it doesn’t look like it will be simply a plain swap.
