WATCH: Alex Boye's 'Star Wars' 'Hello' Cover

Adele’s new hit, “Hello,” from her album “25” has been the subject of several covers. Recently, recording artist Alex Boye came up with a unique cover of the song, inspired by the upcoming film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

TIME wrote that the “Hello” cover was Boye’s manner of paying tribute to two of the most popular topics in the music and film industries. Adele’s new album has been among the top-rated at present, while “The Force Awakens” is set to launch on Dec. 18, 2015.

The video, which lasted over 4 minutes, started with a scene similar to John Boyega’s Stormtrooper shot in the trailer. Boye was wearing the distinct white armor without a helmet on in the middle of a vast desert. There were also shots of a hooded figure walking on the sand and wielding a blue lightsaber, which was reminiscent of Kylo Ren scenes in previous “Episode VII” trailers. Later on, the hooded man was revealed to be Boye. The following scenes showcased a number of African elements, which the artist was known for. He was banging on an African drum as he sang the chorus. There was a line of Stormtroopers beating their African drums in the later shots. The rhythm and lyrics of Adele’s “Hello” were all the same, but there were obviously African beats added, giving the song a distinct touch.

“I take pop songs and Africanize them.” Boye said about his music. The London-born singer has also covered and Africanized other hits in the past like “Gangnam Style” by Psy, “Let It Go” by IdinaMenzel and “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson.

Deseret News reported that Boye featured the new Adele/Star Wars music video at his “Africanized Christmas” concert at Kingsbury Hall on Dec. 12, 2015. During the concert, he also shared his past experience with “America’s Got Talent.” Boye is developing the show in Las Vegas at present.

It is only a few days before “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” launches, so fans can enjoy Boye’s music video in the meantime, as well as review previously released trailers and related cover songs. “Episode VII” was directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Gwendoline Christie, cited ComicBookResources.

The movie will be released on Dec. 16, 2015 in France, the following day in the United Kingdom, and on Dec. 18 in the United States.
