WARNING: "DRAGON BALL SUPER" EPISODE 23 AND EPISODE 24 SPOILERS AHEAD!
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 23 just aired. Titled "The Earth and Gohan in Dire Peril! Come Quick, Son Goku!!" Episode 23 shows the Z Warriors continuing to battle it out against Tagoma and Frieza.
The episode also showed the death of Piccolo, who was defeated following a laser shot originally meant for Gohan. As noted by Yibada, it was disappointing for fans when Gohan didn't get much action.
Following Piccolo's death, as noted by iSchoolGuide, Gohan shouts in a comical manner and tried to do a sort of power up, which proves unsuccessful as he eventually fizzled out. Frieza then gets provoked by this weakness of Gohan and immediately tries to end his life. Fortunately, Goku saves Gohan.
According to Attack of Fanboy, Gohan's attempt at a transformation had a purpose, if not saving his own life. It turns out that his father, Goku, was able to distinguish his ki, allowing him to use Instant Transmission to get to his son's location.
Meanwhile, Captain Ginyu, who's inside Tagoma's body, starts to communicate his desire of battling with the Saiyans. Vegeta grants Ginyu's wish and kills him with just one shot. Frieza then transforms into his former self after which he kills each warrior surrounding him.
The highly-anticipated "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 23 also featured a fight between Goku and Frieza, albeit showing only the first part.
Seventh universe galactic emperor Frieza was shown saying how he had to suffer hell and that because of this, he wants to kill both Goku and Vegeta.
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 23 ends with Frieza and Goku trying to control their base structures, but while some fans expected to see a Golden Frieza and Goku's Super Saiyan Blue form, the revelation won't probably come until Episode 24, which starts the real battle between the two.
The "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 24 preview trailer has also been released, which did not delay fan excitement as it immediately featured Son Goku and the evil Frieza fighting.
Titled "Charge! Freeza vs Son Goku. This is the Fruit of My Training," "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 24 will see Frieza and Goku firing at each other with their beams and ki blasts.
In one scene, another character who's also shown battling against his opponents is Vegeta, who appeared very angry.
The "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 24 preview trailer ended with Goku finally revealing his Super Saiyan Blue form, but it remains to be seen whether Frieza will also reveal his Golden form.
