Emily VanCamp revealed that she will be fighting on the front lines as Sharon Carter for the Marvel's upcoming Phase Three, "Captain America: Civil War." The scene looks like something that boys would actually want to watch out for based on a brief teased she made.
"I got to do a small fight sequence with Scarlett which was fun. We're all just kind of kicking ass in those movies," VanCamp told ET Online. As noted by ET's Meredith Kile, Sharon and Captain America have something of a complicated romantic history. She is the niece of Agent Peggy Carter whom Captain America had a 'history' with.
Asked if their love story would finally be pursued in the film, VanCamp was all the more teasing. "That's where it all gets really tricky because there are die-hard fans that want to see him with different people. There's all the different camps, so hopefully people are happy with it," she said. Asked on what side Sharon Carter will be fighting for, the "Revenge" star said: "She's definitely Team captain America."
The "Captain America: Civil War" official trailer number one was released in November. As expected, it teased of action-packed scenes after scenes after scenes. Anthony Mackie, however, believed that the film offers more than the adrenaline rush seen in the trailer. Fans would be presented with everything that they deserved. It would be an action movie with acting; a superhero movie and yet it is humanly relatable, "The Hurt Locker" actor said.
"You know, the great thing about it is that I feel like what the trailer showed more than anything is Marvel has kind of infused action movies with acting," Mackie told the Comic Book Resources. "Not like subdued, brooding acting. They're giving actors an opportunity to flourish and do the things you would do in another type of movie," the "Pain & Gain" actor explained further.
"Captain America: Civil War" is set for release in the U.S. on May 6, 2016, according to an official announcement from Marvel Studios. The film will pick up from where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off, Marvel said in its announcement.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely penned the script. Chris Evans is Captain America/Steve Rogers, while Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark/Iron Man. Scarlett Johansson will play Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Sebastian Stan is Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. Other stars included in the film are Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-man.
