Daniel Bryan continues to be on the WWE sidelines though a return by the bearded one could really provide the company a big boost.

Considering that most of its stars have been bitten by the injury bug and/or tied up with off-WWE engagements, bringing back the “Yes!” man could ease their plummeting fortune right now.

Bryan has been out since April. At that time, Bryan was part of the WWE European tour that was categorized as a precautionary measure. A report from Wrestling Inc. at the time mentioned that Bryan was not 100% and is seen as a precautionary measure that led to the WWE pulling him out unceremoniously.

Bryan announced in May 2014 that he needed to undergo neck surgery, a cervical foraminotomy to decompress the nerve root. He held the WWE heavyweight title at the time but was forced to give it up on account of his condition.

Bryant returned by November and made a surprise announcement that he would be returning to WWE action at the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble. Though he fought like the Bryan of old, it was obvious that something was not right with him.

Regardless, he went on and even participated in a punishing ladder match at Wrestlemania 31, which allowed him to win the Intercontinental title. However, with a string of injuries from that point on, Bryan was once again forced to let go of the title.

Now, there remains no word on the real score for Bryant. He has been aching to get back to action but apparently, the WWE is standing firm as it is looking out for the wellbeing of Bryan.

The conflict these days is Bryan obtaining clearance. He claims that he has gained clearance from an independent neurologist but the WWE doctors think otherwise.

With the stalemate on medical opinion, a third doctor is seen as the tie-breaker to finally determine if Bryan can still return to the WWE or not anymore. To date, there is no word on this development.

Bryan has obviously been frustrated at the way things are going and may be on the verge of admitting that his WWE days are done.

"I think it could be the end of my career in WWE, but I don't think it will be the end of my career,” says Bryan in an interview with The New Paper Online.

Bryan has been, however, kept busy by the WWE doing stuff other than brutally competing in the ring, but the thing is, the bearded one is itching for some action. However, with his fragile and questionable condition, it seems that his current engagements will have to do.

He could try and leave the WWE and force himself to compete in other factions eventually but with the risk of permanent or even life-threatening injuries at that. From the looks of it, Bryan may want to see first what comes out of that third doctor prognosis before making any announcement or decision regarding his future.
