The wait is almost over. Believe it or not, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is only two weeks away.

With the premiere date approaching fast, so is information about the film, as well as more in-depth rumors about the last surviving Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

By now, most fans are aware that director J.J Abrams purposely left Luke out of promotional material, as well as in almost all the teasers. According to The Week, Abrams has done this to keep some sort of suspense and surprise when Luke does actually show up.

However, this has not stopped rumors about the Jedi Master, and several of these rumors do have actual merit to them.

One of these rumors, as Cinemablend reports, is that Luke has actually gone to the dark side of the force. This could make a lot of sense since near the end of "The Return of the Jedi", Luke was being heavily seduced by the Emperor to join the dark side.

There is a major time jump between the two films, so there is a high possibility that Luke has completely succumbed to the dark side. However, since there has been a few leaked photos of Hamill in a traditional Jedi robe, this rumor is very unlikely.

Another popular rumor that has been going on is that Luke might actually die, similar to Obi-Wan in "New Hope". This rumor comes from the fact that fans have seen Rey (Daisy Ridley) crying over someone's body.

While some believe it is another prominent character, many believe that the character of Luke might do what Obi-Wan did before him and become one with the force and guide the rest of the cast as a force ghost.

This rumor could be true, but seeing that Hamill has been signed for all three movies of the trilogy, it is unlikely that Luke will die in "The Force Awakens."

However, the most popular rumor that is surrounding Luke is that he is somehow related to Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Whether it be a father-son relationship or a nephew-uncle relationship, many believe that Luke and Kylo Ren are connected somehow.

This is also due to the fact that it has been confirmed that Kylo Ren has been collecting artifacts connected in some way to Darth Vader.

With all these interesting rumors floating around the internet, fans will just have to wait until Dec 18, 2015 for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to open in theaters.
