Mariah Carey was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday morning in New York City when the singer suddenly fell ill.
People magazine reported that the 45-year-old diva was taken to the hospital because of a severe case of the flu. Before her confinement, the star managed to do her appearance at the Pier 1 Christmas Pop-Up Storybook on Tuesday night. A representative from the event said that the singer was an ultimate professional. Before the show, Carey wasn't already feeling well but managed to pull it together to be able to finish her commitments.
"She had fallen ill earlier in the day, but participated in the event last night as much as she could," the rep said.
According to an update from TMZ, Mariah is being pumped with vitamins and fluids for her to get better soon. A source claimed that the singer was dehydrated and ill after the show and her team had to call for an emergency treatment.
"She is doing well now and will be performing as scheduled this weekend. She thanks her lambs for the continued support and well wishes," a rep confirmed the singer's current condition.
Mariah was still able to do a quick interview after her show at Pier 1 even though she admitted that she feels a bit under the weather. The singer expressed her excitement over the holidays and revealed she will be going to Aspen.
Meanwhile, Nick Cannon recently spoke about the status of his co-parenting with Mariah. Cannon confirmed that they are able to do it well and he is able to see his kids more often than people expect. He also added that they were able to spend Thanksgiving together as a family.
"It was really cool because we all had Thanksgiving together. It was beautiful. It was amazing. We're family," Cannon said.
However, some are asking whether he was able to meet Mariah's current boyfriend. The comedian revealed that Australian billionaire was not present, but he wouldn't mind at all if he showed up. In fact, Cannon said that he is looking forward to hanging out with Packer.
When asked to make a comment about Mariah bouncing too quickly after the divorce, Cannon had no bitterness and just laughed it off.
"It happened a lot faster than you thought. She's Mariah Carey!" Cannon said. "As long as she's happy and my children are happy, I'm happy."
