There has been a hot rumor spreading around the DC Comics movies as of late and it concerns the possibility of a "Teen Titans" live action movie.
According to Comic Book Resources, the solo "Cyborg" movie, which is to star Ray Fisher as Cyborg, may be retooled as a full blown "Teen Titans" film instead. This rumor is in addition to the rumor that DC is attempting to bring a live action TV series to the small screen as well.
Comic Book reports that the film will supposedly take the solo "Cyborg" movie's 2020 film slot.
While story-wise it would be ok for "Teen Titans" to take over the "Cyborg" movie has it is the team that the character is most commonly known to be associated with. It was only recently that Cyborg was added to the Justice League.
DC has shown lots of love to the "Teen Titans" franchise in the past, with two successful cartoon series under its belt. The first animated series was titled "Teen Titans" and ran for 5 seasons and 65 episodes during its original run from 2003 - 2006. The team consisted of Robyn (Tim Drake), Beast Boy, Cyborg, Starfire, and Raven.
After the show was canceled by Cartoon Network, DC followed it up with the current "Teen Titans Go!" series which started in 2013. "Teen Titans Go!" has taken a more cartoon-ish approached compared to the serious approach its predecessor took.
The show has been a mild success with over 100 episodes been made to date. The team for "Teen Titans Go!" remains the same as "Teen Titans" did, however, the animation and tone of the two shows are a stark contrast of one another.
Along with the "Teen Titans" film, a possible story line for the "Green Lantern" film has surfaced.
According to JoBlo, the film will take a "Lethal Weapon" approach; meaning that the film will most likely feature two Green Lanterns instead of just one. This would mean that the Lanterns that will be featured are most likely going to be Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
The rumor states that Stewart will be playing the grizzly Corps Veteran, ala Murtock from "Lethal Weapon," while Jordan will be the hot shot member of the Corp, just like Riggs.
While again this is still a rumor, the take is interesting and may garner more ground in time.
