Everyone knows that the WWE is trying to find a way out of its celebrated WWE ratings mess, and to date, nothing even close to improving that has materialized.
With most of its stars out on account of injuries or other commitments outside the WWE circle, the creative team needs to work overtime to find a cure if they want to rank up there and get back in the game.
In the process, there are likely casualties, and one of them is Roman Reigns.
Initially tipped as the second coming of John Cena, Reigns has so far been falling short. He has portrayed an almost perfect character, which has made the WWE too predictable. Now, the creative team has to rewind and find a way to recreate his billing from a ‘Superman’ to a mortal.
Along with the process are the frustrations of failing to snag the ultimate prize in the WWE and the heavyweight title that he held for barely an hour, no thanks to the dreaded cash in by WWE heel Sheamus.
Why the sudden turn of events? It was necessary to address the fact that the WWE following has not completely gotten on the Roman Reigns bandwagon.
Reigns has done his work behind the microphone, but somehow, there is still something lacking. Could it be his almost perfect persona that defies all odds each time he takes the ring? Possibly.
How can the WWE creative team remedy this? By making him fall short and frustrated, which would mean that Reigns will need to gain the sympathy of fans in one way or another.
That all started at WWE Survivor Series though Reigns picked himself up and is getting another crack at the title at WWE TLC on Dec. 13. For those who haven’t noticed, the storyline on Roman Reigns’ frustration has been circling around, which apparently makes him the sacrificial lamb in the mix as somehow hinted at via the Bleacher report.
All that should be fine for now, but would it not hurt his stature as a WWE star at some point of his tenure?
The WWE is likely to care less about that as long as it tries its best to perk up the WWE shows. Right now, there is nothing resulting from the Reigns sacrifice, meaning that to jack up ratings, it will need to include other stars on the roster as well.
That could hint at Dean Ambrose, who recently became the new no. 1 contender to the Intercontinental title currently held by Kevin Owens per WWE.com.
Now we have two former NXT and Shield members figuring for two WWE titles. With more options at its disposal, will the WWE now have more chances as it creeps its way to the top?
