Apple's app market is vast, and searching for quality game experiences to pass the time can be a daunting task. Yet, word of mouth is a powerful tool, at times more effective than expensive advertising. Take a look at the following apps, as they surely deserve your time and a place inside your iPhone 5's internal memory.
If you a fan of undecipherable jargon, space ships, and exploding stars, then Space Team is right up your alley. The premise is that each player is tasked with manning control panels and must coordinate to protect the ship from danger. Up to 4 players must cooperate and shout out instructions to crew mates, who have randomly displayed "buttons, switches, sliders, and dials" on their screens. Only one player is shown these instructions at a time, and each step is time sensitive. If someone makes a mistake, the ship takes damage, which causes each player's equipment to gradually fall apart. Space Team is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery
Check out Sword & Sworcery if you're looking for a fresh "audiovisual style." This indie adventure game has been positively received by game critics across the internet, including sites such as IGN and Destructoid. The official synopsis reads, "Traverse a mythic little realm, use a sword to do battle & evoke sworcery to solve mystical musical mysteries. Co-operate with friends via Twitter, experience a videogame world that is affected by moon phases & help a wandering warrior monk complete her woeful errand."
In this follow-up to the well-received Infinity Blade, Gears of War developer Epic Games introduces 3 new styles of combat, new social challenges, and all the other regular trappings you would find in a sequel. The storyline picks up where the last left off and follows the warrior Siris "as you delve deeper into the world of the Deathless tyrants and their legion of Titans."
