The interns of Seattle Grace-Mercy West were forced to step up their game while working with the hospital's attendings in the last episode of 'Grey's Anatomy,' entitled "Love Turns You Upside Down." The five interns in the episode worked in difficult circumstances, and most, came out on top.
Interns Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) and Leah (Tessa Ferrer) took their surgical competition a bit too far, putting a woman's life in danger and getting suspended from scrubbing in for a month in the process. Meanwhile, interns Heather (Tima Majorino) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) stood up to their respective attendings Karev (Justin Chambers) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) to gain a little respect. Fellow intern Shane (Gaius Charles) did some growing up while working with Kepner (Sarah Drew).
In the upcoming episode, "Run Baby Run," the doctors will be forced to make life-altering decisions in both their private and work lives. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will have to fight against a bout of pre-wedding jitters before walking down to aisle to marry fiancé Ben (Jason George). Thankfully, her mentor and friend Richard (James Pickens Jr.) will help her through it, ABC teased.
Meanwhile, there seems to be trouble brewing for the Shepherd-Grey clan, as Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) sister Lizzie (Neve Campbell) butts heads with sister-in-law Meredith. Derek also faces tough decision regarding his hand as Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) try to convince him to take part in a risky surgery.
Things don't seem to be looking up for Christina (Sandra Oh) and estranged husband Owen (Kevin McKidd). A promo for the season's winter finale shows the two moving ahead with their divorce.
'Grey's Anatomy' S9E9, "Run Baby Run," airs on Thursday, December 13 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
